Sailing Today Dehumidifier Review

We always like to get magazines involved in testing dehumidifiers to help spread the word and test ourselves against our peers.  Not surprisingly these opportunities do not come around that often.  We were therefore delighted when we heard that Sailing Today magazine was going to review all of the main dehumidifiers used in the boating sector.

Meaco DD8L Junior Award Winning dehumidifier
The DD8L Junior came out top against some very tough opposition

The DD8L Junior  was selected from our range and went off to the magazine about four months ago.

Although the review was carried out through the eyes of a sailor the vast majority of the things that they are looking out for do apply to use in the home as well.  Reviewers should be looking for controls that are easy to get to grips with, dehumidifiers that are quiet, energy efficient, extract the levels of water that they claim and are light and easy to live with.

For use on a boat they would also have been taking on board (excuse the pun), low temperature performance, continuous drainage and auto restart after a power cut.

So we were naturally delighted when we discovered that the DD8L Junior had won the Best Buy award beating off competition from Dimplex, Ebac and Prem-I-Air to name a few, tough competition and respected brands.

We spend a huge amount of time trying to get the dehumidifiers right and it is always nice when an independent magazine reviews numerous models and appreciates the work that we have put in to making the dehumidifiers just that little bit different.
