A unique internal pump for use in Arete® One dehumidifier removes worry of tank emptying when no one around.
Museums, art galleries, archives and historic houses are well versed in the problems that come from too high a relative humidity and the damage that can be caused to collections. There is a balance to be had between achieving a relative humidity below 60%rh to achieve an equilibrium of 55%rh +/-5%rh using a dehumidifier, whilst not spoiling the visitor experience with an industrial looking machine. Meaco, the leading British air treatment specialist, is well aware of this problem, having started out in this sector in 1991, and has now designed a new range of dehumidifiers, the MeacoDry Arete® One, which goes a long way to help. Acting as a dehumidifier and air purifier, it is available in a large 25L capacity, so most spaces will only need one machine per 200m³ space, reducing the number of dehumidifiers required. As a beautifully designed machine it is easy on the eye, and can be placed right up against a wall to save on space. At just 42dB the noise will not be noticed in most spaces.
Designed for ease of use, Arete One is easy to set up with a variable humidistat that allows users to set the target they require – 55 or 60%rh for example. Doubling as an air purifier, the medical grade H13 HEPA filter helps keep the air in the space clean and safe for people visiting and working there.
The problem of emptying the water tank when the dehumidifier is used in storage spaces, or buildings which are infrequently visited, has also been resolved by Meaco with a new unique pump, designed for use in the Arete One. The pump fits inside the Arete’s water tank and will lift water away to a height of 2.5 meters, powered by the dehumidifier’s own internal power supply. It requires no tools to fit and comes with a 3m drain hose. As the pump allows for continuous drainage, the dehumidifier will not stop when the water tank is full. The advantage of an integral pump rather than using a hose to drain into a bucket, is that it provides fail safe protection if the pump fails. An integral pump can give you piece of mind because if for whatever reason it fails the water will simply stay in the dehumidifier tank and the dehumidifier will just switch off. So no risk of damage to valuable treasures.

Designed for ease of use, installing just requires the pump to be placed in the bottom of the tank, and the supplied hose pushed on. The hose and power cable are then guided out of the left-hand side of the tank, with the hose placed wherever you want the water to go. Every time the tank is full the pump will turn on and will pump the water away.
Best of all this was all designed in Britain using a combination of Meaco’s experience and feedback from over 2000 users who told Meaco what they love, and dislike about dehumidifiers.
