The new Meaco Platinum Range of Dehumidifiers

Meaco Platinum range of dehumidifiersToday we launch our new range of dehumidifiers called the Meaco Platinum range.  Quite a grand title for a dehumidifier, sounds like marketing twaddle you might think!  Well we are very serious about these dehumidifiers and everything they represent, so for us it is so much more than clever marketing, we are trying to make a real difference with these new dehumidifiers.

The most common question that we get asked by customers is ‘how much will it cost me/is it costing me, to run my dehumidifier?’  We get this question time and time again and we can understand why with electricity bills making up a higher and higher percentage of our disposable income these days.  I know there are various arguments that can be made about the fact that a dehumidifier is used mainly in the winter and electricity costs do not matter because wattage equals heat, but it does matter, because if a consumer can remove the same amount of water for less money then that is important.

Building a dehumidifier that extracts the same amount of water but uses a lot less energy is not easy and demands that you use components of the highest quality to drive down energy consumption from each and every component.  This means that you end up with a more reliable dehumidifier that will last longer as well.

I can see plenty of dehumidifiers on the European market whereby the buyers have gone to China, sourced the cheapest dehumidifier they can find and then slapped their company name on it.  This then either equates to large margins for the retailer and importer or a cheaper end product for the consumer.  I understand the importance of both of these factors but what about quality and long term running costs?  In the above example all that happens is that the consumer ends up paying much more for their electricity, in some cases over £100 more per year!  So much for the initial saving.

With the new Platinum Range we are saying that it does not have to be like that, there is another way.  In the new range we have two dehumidifiers, a 12 litre and a 20 litre and both are priced at a similar level to our competition in the UK, but both use much, much less electricity than their peers.  This means that the consumer gets a quality dehumidifier, at a fair price, which will cost them a lot, lot less money to run and it should last so much longer.

And that is our challenge to our competition, stop concentrating on spreadsheets that just give you the cheapest prices and the cheapest components and start listening to customers and delivering dehumidifiers that answer the questions that they are asking.  Make dehumidifiers that use less electricity and save your customers money.
