Meaco yesterday launched the new Platinum Range of dehumidifiers and in this earlier blog we explained why we have given these new dehumidifiers such a grade name and why we think that they are so important.
I now want to look at the two machines in greater detail and explain what makes them special, first up the Meaco 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier.
First of all it is a 12 litre dehumidifier and not a 10 litre dehumidifier.
This is important because most entry level dehumidifiers are based on 10 litres a day extraction, the extra 2 litres a day gives you an extra 20% extraction per day.
Using a 12 litre dehumidifier also means that you are able to make full use of the compressor and the condenser, 10 litre dehumidifiers are actually mostly compromised and inefficient 12 litre machines and this is why our 12 litre machine is more energy efficient than 10 litre machines.
The Meaco 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier uses just 165 watts of energy when it is running; you will struggle to find a 10 litre dehumidifier that can achieve less than 200 watts let alone 165 watts.
With regard to features the we have added in as many core features as possible to ensure that the 12L exceeds customer’s expectations. The 12L offers;

Digital display to show the room relative humidity so that you can see the progress that the dehumidifier is making in drying the air.

Variable humidistat allowing you to set a target relative humidity between 30 and 80%rh in 5Rh steps.

Large 100 cubic metres per hour airflow.

Off timer that can be set between 1 and 24 hours

I would expect the digital display to be of greatest value because customers like to know what the level of relative humidity is and to get an idea of how well the dehumidifier is performing. It also allows greater flexibility with regards to the humidistat setting.
Having used the new dehumidifiers for me what I have appreciated most is having a quality piece of engineering in the house, you can feel and sense the difference, a bit like sitting in a top of the range German car – albeit without the price tag!
