Meaco Zambezi dehumidifier awarded Which? Best Buy
Meaco DD8L Zambezi rated as outstanding, and a brilliant dehumidifier for its rapid water extraction, and energy efficiency
The best dehumidifiers dry rooms quickly without using much energy, are easy to use and are quiet. The Which? review team recently examined the Meaco Zambezi and earned a Best Buy endorsement
Zambezi is the result of three years of intense research and development, incorporating several ideas originating from customers. It offers more functionality, more control and more options than any other domestic dehumidifier on the market. It has an attention to detail never seen before and offers more options than any other dehumidifier, including six world firsts.
Zambezi is able to extract up to eight litres of water from the air each day, and has three fan levels, to help choose between higher intensity or milder extraction. It also has a clothes-drying function, which is useful for drying clothes inside on a clothes horse. Its ioniser cleans the air that it sends back into the room. According to the Which? expert review, “You’ll be delighted with how quickly this dehumidifier pulls water from the air, whether it’s in your lounge or an unheated garage. It aced our tests both in room temperature and a colder environment.”
The reviewers found it did not use too much energy when extracting water, resulting in quick results that you won’t need to pay through the nose for.
Its light weight at 8kg, with a handle to help move it around, makes it easy to use. The test results continue: “You’ll find this dehumidifier generally really easy to use. You won’t have any problems using the controls, it’s simple to move around thanks to its compact design, and it doesn’t get knocked over easily.”
The Which? review found the auto-setting function worked well. “The measured humidity in our testing chamber was a little higher than our chosen value when above 60%, but you can generally trust it to do a good job.”
When it came to noise it’s about average, and its water tank holds up to 2.94 litres of water. Rather than emptying the water tank, there is a continuous drain facility – you attach a hose and lead it down a low-level drain outlet, or perhaps a sink, where collected water should flow.
Summing up, the expert review at Which? commented, “This dehumidifier easily earns our Best Buy recommendation. It’s energy efficient, excellent at extracting water and really easy to use. It’s a brilliant dehumidifier that extracts water quickly whether working at room temperature or in colder conditions.” When asked “should I buy it,” the answer was a resounding Yes!
Chris Michael, director of Meaco comments “We are thrilled to receive this expert and independent industry recognition. It is a tremendous endorsement of the Meaco brand, with the Zambezi being the third Meaco dehumidifier to receive a Which? Best Buy accolade.”
With a strong commitment to the environment, Meaco supports the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, and for every sale of a Zambezi, £2.00 goes to this Foundation to assist their Elephant conservation work in Africa.
