The arrival of summer means a rise in temperature and humidity. Together with the current lockdown and more people being forced to spend long periods of time indoors, keeping cool can be a problem.
Getting a good night’s sleep also becomes difficult when the weather turns hot and sticky, which is why the launch of the launch of the new MeacoCool MC Series of portable air conditioners is timely.
Quieter and more energy efficient portable air conditioners
This new series is Meaco’s most energy efficient range of air conditioners yet, with an Energy Rating of A. By incorporating the new R290 refrigerant, which improves efficiency with better thermodynamics, these air conditioners are also more environmentally friendly.
Available in six different sizes, ranging from 7,000 BTU to 14,000 BTU, the units provide localised cooling in rooms from 12M² to 36m². The new MeacoCool MC Series dehumidify as they cool to remove the sticky feeling that comes with a UK summer. In the low fan speed setting the new and reduced sound pressure level of just 53dB(A) makes this an easy portable air conditioner to live with at home or in the office.
A window kit suitable for sash windows and sliding doors is included to vent hot air and a 1.8m long duct allows any excess heat to be expelled via a window.
Meaco’s most powerful portable air conditioners to-date
The 12,000 BTU and 14,000 BTU additions are the most powerful portable air conditioners Meaco has manufactured so far, making them perfect for larger spaces, especially south facing rooms.
These larger sizes are just as quiet as the smaller models in the range, so with the extra cooling output, they provide exceptional performance and value.
MeacoCool CH models for air conditioning and heating
The CH models in the range enable customers to both heat and cool rooms. The reverse heat pump in the CH appliances enables dual functionality as an air conditioner or heater, which makes them particularly useful all year round in the home and office. There is a CH model in each BTU size, from 7,000 to 14,000 BTU (currently the 10,000 BTU CH is in stock, the others will be available very soon) so there’s a unit for rooms of all sizes.
Small and lightweight, the MC series is fitted with castors making it easy to move from room to room. The easy-to-use remote control* provides full control of the air conditioner, enabling the user to adjust the temperature and engage a sleep mode to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
To get the best out of this air conditioner, Meaco recommends pre-cooling rooms, such as a bedroom, to ensure it is cooled before it needs to be used. This is easy to do with the timer function that allows users to set both an on and off timer from anytime between one and 24 hours.
All Meaco products come with a two-year parts and labour warranty for mainland UK, as well as the option of extending the warranty to a total of five years.
No more Polystyrene. Meaco’s commitment to environmental sustainability
Meaco no longer uses any polystyrene packaging but 100% recyclable cardboard eggshell packaging, as part of our commitment to the environment. Understanding customer needs, and empathising with them over issues of importance to them, has always been a priority at Meaco. This is demonstrated by our support for the David Shephard Wildlife Foundation and more recently when we made the decision to stop putting drainage hoses inside new dehumidifiers, which might otherwise ended up as waste. This potentially saves up to 70,000 metres of plastic each year which might otherwise ended up as waste.

Hi
Just received a MeacoCool MC series portable air conditioner. I understood from online literature that this model had a “heat” function but it appears this one does not. I have looked online again and it appears that the one with heating is not available not even featured on your website.
There are a couple of models with heating which is specified at the time of ordering. In 2021 the 9000 heating model was available from Costco and the 10000 heating model was available from John Lewis and this website.
Can you tell me what is the difference between all of the air conditioning products, also do you have to use ice blocks and water like some and is it any good at cooling a really hot room down
Anita,
These are portable air conditioners, so no ice block or water involved at all. Products that use ice and water for cooling are called air coolers and are not air conditioners.
The larger the BTU rating on an air conditioner, the larger the room size it will cool or the faster it will cool a smaller room.

I bought a Meaco cool AC but it’s impossible to fix the exhaust pipe to the back of the AC. It just doesnt work. Is there a way i can get a replacement exhaust pipe? And why make it so difficult to fit
All exhaust hoses on aircon have a reverse thread so please try screwing it on the other way. It also requires several turns, often customers only do one or two turns and then the hose falls off because of the air flow. Several turns and you will be fine. For the record spare ducts can be found here – https://www.meaco.com/collections/window-kits
