There are several unique features on Zambezi all of which are a result of listening to customers and designing Zambezi with the customer at the heart of the plans. We have explained the Sterlising Ioniser and Digital Display already, next we look at the Timer + and Daily Run Timer features.
Off Timer
Lots of dehumidifiers have Off Timers, probably the majority, and it is a case of a lack of imagination by the factories because if you ask them why all dehumidifiers have Off Timers the answer will be
‘don’t know’ or ‘because everyone else does’! An Off Timer does have its uses, you can use it to turn the dehumidifier off after say 4 hours if you know that it will take that long to complete a task (dry your laundry for example). But apart from that the uses are limit, DD8L Zambezi, like all of the others, does have an Off Timer.
On Timer
Something that I have not seen on any other similar dehumidifier and certainly not on any other domestic desiccant dehumidifier the On Timer allows you a bit more flexibility. Very popular with light sleepers who need to use the dehumidifier just outside the bedroom door. Now you can set the dehumidifier to come on a couple of hours after you have gone to sleep and you can fall asleep in peace and then the dehumidifier will not disturb you when it turns on.
Very useful and something that customers wanted to be included.
Daily Run Timer
So many requests for this feature and other manufacturers must have had this feedback as well. We are the first to incorporate this into a domestic dehumidifier so I guess that all of the other dehumidifier manufacturers are just not listening!
The Daily Run Timer allows you to set a start time for the dehumidifier and an off time. The dehumidifier will then turn on and off each day at those pre-set times. So if you want your dehumidifier to turn on at say 11pm each day and turn off at 6am, then you can set this and the dehumidifier will run that way forever until you change the times or turn the feature off.
Plug in Timer
Much safer than using a plug in timer which will reduce the lifespan of a desiccant dehumidifier and is not a good idea to use a plug in with a dehumidifier.
But you said not to use a Timer?
I have written before in the past that using a plug in timer is the wrong thing to do and you can read that post here. But the fact remains that the timer request is the number one feature that customers have asked for so we are happy to oblige, we wonder how long it will take other manufacturers to read this and follow suit?!
