Customers often call us looking for wall mounting dehumidifiers so that they can get one off the floor. Reasons for wanting to do this tend to vary but the most popular are to save on floor space in smaller properties, to drain the water away continuously in rented properties so that the tenants does not have to empty the water, to provide some height to the continuous drain and to stop the dehumidifier from getting kicked or knocked in a busy walkway.
For us the answer has usually been no because the customer is perhaps thinking about the application in the wrong way and needs guidance about a better solution to solve their humidity problem. But wall mounting your dehumidifier clearly has many benefits and as long as it is done correctly then it is a neat solution.
One of the main things to watch out for is whether your wall is straight and true or not. Water likes to run downhill and if the wall is not plumb or if your mounting is not horizontal then the water will not run into the bucket and will end up leaking on the floor. This is an important point to watch out for and to double check before you embark on mounting your dehumidifier.
Our Norwegian distributor set about finding a solution to the regular requests for wall mounting but instead of finding a wall mounted dehumidifier he wanted to find a way to wall mounted his favourite dehumidifier – the DD8L. Wall mounting the DD8L makes a lot of sense because it is the most sensible dehumidifier to use in the majority of environments where wall mounting is required.
In all of these applications:Garages, Cellars, Boats, Flats, Apartments, Storage applications & Holiday homes The DD8L makes more sense than any other dehumidifier either because of its superior performance at low temperatures or its lower noise level. Therefore the solution was not another dehumidifier but just a question of how to mount the best dehumidifier for the job.
So a set of brackets to hold the DD8L in place from the bottom and the top have been designed and they have proved to be very successful and popular with hundreds in use all across Scandinavia.
Now they are available in the UK and judging by the numbers of requests we have received in the past they should prove to be very popular.

Are any of your dehumidifiers double insulated please (so I can put it in the bathroom)? Thanks
In the UK you should not use any dehumidifier, or any other electrical product, in a bathroom, mixing wet people and 220 volts is not a good idea. The MeacoWall dehumidifiers are specially designed to be safe to use in a swimming pool environment.
