How to choose the right fan

Deciding on which is the best fan for you isn’t always easy. With the weather gradually getting warmer, you need to keep cool and a fan does provide a cheaper alternative to air conditioners. But which one is right for you?

All our fans are very cheap to run and will guarantee you a more comfortable summer whether you’re trying to sleep at night, in the office, at the gym or just having a barbecue with friends. Our MeacoFans come in a range of sizes, so you’re guaranteed to find the right fan for you.

When it comes to picking the right fan, there are 5 important factors you should take into consideration:

1. Where will you use it?

Do you need a fan for your desk, your bedside table, the kitchen side or the sitting room?  The space where you want it to sit can help to determine the size of fan that you will buy.  If you only have a small space like a windowsill to put the fan on, then the Meaco 360 is likely to make more sense.

2. How close to the fan will you be?

If you are going to have the fan very close to you, for example next to your head in bed or on the table next to your PC, then one of the smaller fans like the Meaco Fan 260c or the MeacoFan 360 might be better.  But if you are looking to position the fan further away, perhaps in the centre of the sitting room to cool the whole family whilst watching TV, then the MeacoFan 1056 would be better with its much more powerful airflow.

3. Floor standing or on a table/side?

In the bedroom you might want the fan at the bottom of the bed but have nothing to sit it on.  In this case the MeacoFan 1056P would be best, as this pedestal fan can stand on the floor and is tall enough to keep you cool in bed.  But if you want a fan for the kitchen side then the Meacofan 650 or 1056 would make more sense.

4. Do you want night lights, or not?

For those wanting a dim light while they sleep, whether it’s for you or your child, our fans that have an optional night light can offer you a reassuring glow at night.  If you prefer total darkness then you can turn the lights off completely and on the MeacoFan 650 you can turn all bleeps off too.

5. Portability

Will you be looking to move the fan from room to room?  Running off just batteries and with no cables to worry about, the 260c is the ultimate in portability and can be taken into the garden whenever you are sitting outside.  You can even take it on holiday with you and it is a hit with campers!

Where should I use my Meacofan?

All our fans can be used however you want, the following suggestions are just to give an idea of where they can come in handy.

  • The MeacoFan 1056P can be used in a gym, office or shop floor. With an adjustable pedestal, it can be placed on the floor to cool the whole room quietly and powerfully.

  • If you’re looking for a fan that is just as effective but takes up less space, then the MeacoFan 1056 is ideal. Whether you’re cooking in your kitchen on a hot day, or watching TV, it’s the fan for you and the whole family.

  • With a remote control, night light and eco mode, the MeacoFan 650 is easy to operate and very quiet (like all our fans), so it’s perfect if you want a peaceful night’s sleep!

Very quiet and powerful- just what’s needed for a light sleeper.’

Review from a happy customer of the MeacoFan 650

  • Over the course of the summer the MeacoFan 360 comes in handy on your desk whether you’re playing games, working on your computer, or studying, this fan can be particularly useful. Or if you’re looking to cool down in the garden while having a barbecue, it can also help you out as it can run off a power bank.

  • The personal favourite of Chris Michael, Managing director, the MeacoFan 260c is lightweight, easy-to-carry and charges via a plug or usb port. It will fit perfectly on a personal desktop or if you’re camping in a tent – or if you’re going to wait in your caravan this summer, you’ll want either a 260c, 360 or 650 fan.
