Our team at Meaco are delighted to win the Red Dot Design Award for our hugely popular MeacoDry Arete® One 20L dehumidifier and celebrated at the award ceremony in Essen, Germany.
The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions, and is seen as one of the most sought after marks of quality design. The award credits the dehumidifier’s “seamless design and the user-friendly concept of emptying the water tank”, something our customers often compliment in their product reviews.
After reviewing feedback and developing innovative solutions centered on the user experience, we created this stylish collection. The MeacoDry Arete® One – named after the Greek Goddess of excellence in all things – launched in 2021 after nearly five years of development, involving feedback from over 2000 customers.
Stylishly simple, we have focused on designing our Arete® One to blend naturally into your home and created a combined dehumidifier and air purifier that’s a new benchmark in style and quality.
The side air intake allows Arete® to sit discreetly against the wall just like any other piece of furniture, unlike other dehumidifiers that require a space of 30cm around the entire unit. All wheels are hidden behind feet that help the dehumidifier blend into any room and wall mounts are available to integrate the unit best into your home and lifestyle.
With the touch control modes, Smart Laundry, Smart Humidity and Night Mode, your dehumidifier can get to work with just the press of a button. You’re free to walk away and Arete® can do the rest. These smart modes are designed to maintain a steady humidity in your home whilst minimising electricity consumption. Our control logic also manages the fan speed to increase extraction rates when required. When the humidity has been reached, Arete® will switch off for 30 minutes, after which it samples the air for changes and responds accordingly.
One design feature that Red Dot Design Awards complimented in particular, was the easy to use water tank. While you may only touch the control panel for a few seconds each day (if at all!), you will be emptying the tank and dealing with the water on a regular basis. We have also designed the tank so it’s easy to grip, pull out and put back in place. The tank has a cover and a carry handle so you don’t spill a drop, and you can pour from both the left and right sides. We put a lot of time and attention into getting it right!
