Supporting Crisis at Christmas

Each year we like to support a different charity at Christmas and it has been quite noticeable this year that there does seem to be more people sleeping on the streets which is not a good thing at any time of year, but especially so at Christmas.

As is tradition with companies we normally provide hampers, boxes of chocolate and alcohol for our bigger customers in December to thank them for their business over the past 12 months.  This year we have not done any of that and instead we have given the money we saved to Crisis at Christmas to support their ‘Reserve a Place’ appeal.

Crisis was founded in the 1960s and campaigns to end homelessness throughout the UK and supports those in need throughout the year.  Their current research reveals that more than 24,000 people with face spending Christmas sleeping rough in cars, trains, buses and tents.  In total a staggering 170,000 people are suffering from some form of homelessness at the moment in Britain.  This includes people sleeping on the streets, sofa-surfing with strangers, living in hostels and stuck in other dangerous situations.

You can find out more about their work below and we would like to thank everyone for their support in 2018 and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
