The differences between our new Arete One 12L and our other 12L dehumidifiers

In 2022, after 5 years of listening to customers and developing the new Arete® range we launched Arete® One, our new domestic dehumidifier and air purifier to hugely positive reviews and exceptional demand from customers. We don’t claim to have created the perfect domestic dehumidifier, but we might be very close!  And we’re proud to say that the MeacoDry Arete® design gives it a lot of advantages over other dehumidifiers (including our own). A question we hear from customers on a regular basis is: ‘What’s the difference between the Arete® 12L and your other 12L dehumidifier models?’

So we decided to create this blog articles to help clarify the key differences between the Arete® 12L, the 12L Low Energy and the 12L ABC.

What’s in a design?

Our customers provided us with feedback that their dehumidifier stays in the same place all year round when they aren’t using it. Although it is sold as a small home appliance, the Arete dehumidifier might end up becoming a part of the furniture and staying in a fixed position. Our Arete dehumidifiers are stylish and blend in, they can fit against the wall and take up less space, with a cable tidy and hidden castors, they are easy to move if needed.

If you have any questions specific to your dehumidifier, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our customer service team, call us on 01483 234900 or use our Live Chat service. Alternatively email us at customerservice@meaco.com.

  1. Hi There,

Is the HEPA filters must be attached in the machine while operation?

    Thanks and regards,
    Winnie

    1. Hello,

Thank you for your enquiry. In short, HEPA filters are optional, you can use, or not use, no problem. I would like to highlight the benefits of HEPA filters below:

What HEPA filters provide excellent air cleaning capabilities. If you are allergic to mould spores, pollen, dust, pet dander, dust mites etc. then a HEPA filter will help. These are True HEPA filters which mean they conform to tough international standards to ensure that they capture 99.97% of particles that have a size of 0.3µm or larger, complying to class E11. These are the best filters for cleaning the air that you can currently get on a dehumidifier.

      Hope that helps!

  2. Hi, I am looking at either a Meaco Arete or ABC 12L

I am put off on the Arete after reading that it will need a new filter (£10 each) every 3 months.

But the ABC does not need this as it has a long life filter.

Am I missing something? An extra £40 a year on filters will add up quickly!

    thanks

    1. David,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

Both units have a life long filter, the dust filter, it is the HEPA filter which is absent on the ABC.

We recommend HEPA filters so you can get the most out of your machine, especially if you suffer from allergies. Using a HEPA filter removes 99.7% of particles as small as 0.3µm micrometres. A HEPA filter can remove mould spores, pollen, dust, pet dander, dust mites and more from the air helping to reduce symptoms caused by allergies. which means that it is removing allergens much smaller than human hair – things that you cannot see but your eyes and nose can certainly sense and react to! Purifying the air is great for those with allergies such as hay fever and other respiratory conditions such as asthma. Although, you don’t have to have allergies to benefit from air purification, it’s also great for those who simply want to breathe in cleaner air in their home. The dehumidifier can be used without the HEPA filter, this means it will dehumidify the air only and not purify it.

      I hope this helps.

      Kind regards,
      Omar.

    1. M. Ayyad,

Thank you for your enquiry, we have only one MeacoDry Arete® One – perhaps you are seeing it read differently with a reseller, rest assured it will be the same as ours, ensure they are an approved reseller and you can cross reference the product on our direct website http://www.meaco.com or by giving us a call.

      I hope that helps,
      Omar@Meaco.

        1. Larry,

Thank you for your enquiry. Wattage varies depending on conditions, temperature and humidity, with our dehumidifiers having Meaco control logic, it allows the unit to decide how much fan speed and power is required, hence changes in the wattage used. Please visit the extraction rate data tab on our website to see the differences in conditions and wattage.

          I hope that helps.
          Omar.

    1. Jo,

      Thank you for your query.

The air will actually be 1 to 2°C warmer than the room air but because it is moving, it might feel cold.

      Hope this helps.

      Omar@Meaco.
