Using your dehumidifier during the winter

There are many benefits for both your health, your home and even commercial space that come with using dehumidifiers. In the winter months, when the humidity levels rise and temperatures drop, dehumidifiers become even more vital.

Many people associate humidity with the warm summer months, but, surprisingly enough, the winter months are on average the most humid in the UK. To make it worse, high humidity levels inside can make your home feel colder than it actually is. You could open your windows to prevent damp and condensation during this time, but it will inevitably let in cold air, which isn’t ideal when temperatures struggle to reach 10 degrees for months!

Alternatively, a dehumidifier will keep the cold air out and keep your heating bills down, saving you money. There are various options and styles to suit a multitude of situations, whether you want a stylish unobtrusive solution or opt for a commercial product, it’s worth investing now for the future.

If it is very cold, ensure that your dehumidifier is not left outside and kept heated and in a well insulated space such as a garage. Trapped moisture inside could potentially freeze if temperatures drop below freezing.
