The difference between our Arete One 20L dehumidifier and our other dehumidifiers

Since the launch of our MeacoDry Arete® One 20L in 2020, we have received many positive reviews about our product. After 5 years of design inspired by the feedback of 2,000 customers, we’re often asked why our 20L dehumidifier is any better than others (including our own. We don’t want to brag, but we believe our Arete® dehumidifier is a near-perfect domestic dehumidifier). Similarly to our MeacoDry Arete One 12L dehumidifier, a question we hear from customers regularly is: ‘What’s the difference between the MeacoDry Arete® 20L and the Meaco 20L Low Energy dehumidifiers?’

Is it an appliance or part of your home?

From our customer feedback, we understood that people were looking for a dehumidifier that blends in with the rest of the furniture. A dehumidifier that is part of the home. So when we designed our MeacoDry Arete® One, we took this into consideration and added a cable tidy, castors so it can be wheeled around easily, and a flat back so that it can fit easily against the wall. The style lines and details on Arete® make it look more like a piece of furniture, which helps it to blend in your room.

If you have any questions specific to your dehumidifier, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our customer service team, call us on 01483 234900 or use our Live Chat service. Alternatively email us at customerservice@meaco.com.

  1. Hi Chris I am looking at the Meaco Arete 20l and 25l and trying to choose between the 2. Can you advise on the differences? Thanks

    1. Hi Anna, thank you for your question. Quite simply, the 25L would be better suited for larger properties, up to 5 bedrooms as well as tackling condensation and mould on the higher level. In addition, a few factors, the 25L having the larger capacity, the running costs will be slightly higher as well, e.g. 267 watts vs 216 watts, 8p per hour vs 6p per hour. If you’d like anymore assistance please do contact us.

  2. Hi, I am interested in MeacoDry Arete® One. I lived in a 1 bedroom flat so I am thinking neither 10L or 12L model. It is found that most of specification of both are similar. May I know the difference (is it larger one always better?) and when the MeacoDry Arete® One 12L will be back in store?
Besides, can I put the dehumidifier in bathroom during a shower (Of coz not under the showerhead)? As my bathroom is just like a sauna room after my girlfriend use it.
    Thank you.

    1. Ken,

The Arete 12L gives you 20% more extraction. You can expect more stock to be available on the 29th March.

Don’t use an electrical appliance in a bathroom, just open the bathroom door and run the machine in the hallway instead.

      Chris

  3. Hi, I was wondering when the MeacoDry Arete® One 20L and the Meaco 20L Low Energy will be back in stock and if it would be possible to send a stock alert to my email address if possible when they’re back in stock?

I’ve heard great things and keen to buy one of these.

    1. Thank you for your interest. The Arete 20L will be available on the 24th March 2023 and the 20L Low Energy at a similar time but via our resellers rather than this website.

      Chris

  4. Hi, may I know when MeacoDry Arete® One 10L will be back in stock? or in which authorized retail shops I can buy it?

      1. We have a two bedroom cottage and require a dehumidifier, would it be better to buy two 12 litre models and have one upstairs and one downstairs or buy one MeacoDry Arete® One 20L dehumidifier and keep it downstairs ?

        1. lee,

If the source of moisture is coming from the one location then you should buy one larger dehumidifier, if you feel that you have moisture coming from say the kitchen and drying laundry downstairs and the bathrooms upstairs, then I would buy two smaller dehumidifiers.

          1. Hi Chris,
We bought the MeacoDry Arete® One 20L dehumidifier yesterday (14 March) from Argos as it was in stock. We switched the machine on after letting it stand for 6 hours, we have set it on continuous (co) and it’s only been on since 2:00am Wednesday morning and it has made a huge difference already, it really works like a dream, we are very very happy 🙂

  5. Is there a reason why the Arete doesn’t have a louvre? Seems like it would be handy to keep dust from accumulating inside the machine when the fan is not operational.

  6. Hi Chris. I’ve noticed that since I purchased my Arete 12L in January, there doesn’t seem to be a 5-year warranty anymore? You seem to offer a standard 2-year now and want an extra 60 pounds for the extra 3 years… why the sudden change? I had figured you guys were so confident in the reliability of the Arete that you offered the 5-year warranty as standard, not as some kind of limited time bonus.

    Clarification would be helpful.

      1. Ah, so the 5-year plan is for an additional 5 years on top of the original 5 you get? That’s quite good for something using a refrigerant!

  7. Is the Meaco Arete Dehumidifier & Air Purifier, 20L advertised on John Lewis the same model as the MeacoDry Arete Dehumidifier & Air Purifier, 20L on your website they look the same but I am confused with the difference in the name. Seem to have same specifications and price.

      1. Thanks Chris, I thought this was the case but wanted to verify this as could understand why one was MeacoDry and the other just had Meaco

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Andrew

        1. What’s the difference between the arête and the platinum ultra low energy dehumdidrier.
Does it have the same dc inverter motor?

          1. John,

The DC motor is unique to the 25L Ultra Low Energy, in general terms the differences are similar to the long list listed on this blog, apart from that the 25L Low Energy has no HEPA filter at all.

            Chris
