We are the Quiet Mark 10th Anniversary Award winners!

On the 19th of October 2022, Meaco were invited to the John Connell Awards 2022 at the Palace of Westminster to accept the Quiet Mark 10th Anniversary Award!

Hosted by Sir Peter Bottomley MP, Member of Parliament for Worthing West, the awards showed appreciation for Meaco’s promotion of its low-noise technology for consumer benefits.

What are the John Connell Awards?

The awards are named after the Noise Abatement Society’s (NAS) founder John Connell OBE, who lobbied the Noise Abatement Act in Parliament in 1960. The Noise Abatement Society is a UK charity who aims to create a better understanding of how sound affects us and how we can solve problems with noise, or improve soundscapes in a more sustainable way.

The Quiet Mark 10th Anniversary Award 2022

Launched by the NAS in 2012, the internally-recognised Quiet Mark Award is only given to manufacturers with the quietest products, after rigorous testing and verification, to prioritise and encourage noise reduction in everyday electronic appliances in the home or workplace.

‘Congratulations to MEACO for fully promoting the ‘low-noise technology is healthier’ message, a win-win for the consumer and manufacturer alike’.

Recognising manufacturers who promote low-noise technology for consumer benefits, Quiet Mark awarded Meaco as its 2022 10th Anniversary Award winner, presented by David Hill (Director General Environment, Rural & Marine, Defra). Meaco has been seen as being a manufacturer who has consistently adopted Quiet Mark’s values to its own core values –  to reduce the stress in the home, workplace and public spaces with low-noise and efficient air treatment products.

Chris Michael, managing director of Meaco, commented:

‘We have always aligned with QuietMark’s messaging because we agree that noise is hugely important in a consumer’s enjoyment of a product, a noisy dehumidifier or fan is not a good product.  For years we have designed and manufactured high quality products, this quality principle includes low noise levels.

Part of the wider process for us is engaging with customers and spreading the word that products should and can be quieter.  We are therefore delighted that this has been recognised by QuietMark as part of their special 10th Anniversary award and we are very proud to have beaten so many famous multinational companies to take this award home.’
