Keeping an Eye on Dehumidifier Quality

I was recently at our factory in China discussing plans for 2014 and 2015 and how we can make sure that our range of dehumidifiers are always meeting customer requirements and needs.  Whilst I was there batches of the Meaco 10L and the Meaco 20L were being produced.  It was a good opportunity to see how the improvements to the production lines and how the enhanced test facilities were coming along.

Customers are always worried about quality, rightly so, and it is something that is always at the forefront of our minds too.  You might be interested to learn what happens when a dehumidifier is produced.

As the dehumidifier goes along the production line it stops in a sound proof test room where all of its functions are tested before it leaves the production area.

Once the units have been made and boxed they are transferred to the warehouse where two test rooms are situated.  In the first room the factories own engineers test a random sample of the batch and make over 30 tests on each dehumidifier selected.  In the second room our engineers select their own batch of dehumidifiers and make more in depth checks on the dehumidifiers and log the components used to make sure that they comply with our specifications.

Testing the dehumidifiers before they leave the factory
The factory test team make over 30 checks on the dehumidifiers to make sure that they comply with our standards. Our own inspection team then make even more tests.

This is the sort of attention to detail that is required for world class production and this is the reason why our failures rates are so low.  I know that many people are turned off by the words ‘Made in China’, what should really turn them off is not where they are made but how they are made and how the production is controlled.  Manufacturing in China gives us the correct balance between quality and price to enable us to employ people in Britain as part of a successful company.

Keeping an eye on dehumidifier quality is part of our daily routine and long may it continue.
