Since the launch of our MeacoDry Arete® One 20L in 2020, we have received many positive reviews about our product. After 5 years of design inspired by the feedback of 2,000 customers, we’re often asked why our 20L dehumidifier is any better than others (including our own. We don’t want to brag, but we believe our Arete® dehumidifier is a near-perfect domestic dehumidifier). Similarly to our MeacoDry Arete One 12L dehumidifier, a question we hear from customers regularly is: ‘What’s the difference between the MeacoDry Arete® 20L and the Meaco 20L Low Energy dehumidifiers?’
For a detailed comparison table between our MeacoDry Arete® One 20L and Meaco 20L Low Energy, please see below:

Is it an appliance or part of your home?
From our customer feedback, we understood that people were looking for a dehumidifier that blends in with the rest of the furniture. A dehumidifier that is part of the home. So when we designed our MeacoDry Arete® One, we took this into consideration and added a cable tidy, castors so it can be wheeled around easily, and a flat back so that it can fit easily against the wall. The style lines and details on Arete® make it look more like a piece of furniture, which helps it to blend in your room.

Can you you use the Arete without the Hepa filters?
Barry,
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use the Arete dehumidifier without the HEPA filters. The HEPA filter is a secondary, optional filter that helps improve air quality by capturing particles, but the unit will still function properly without it.
Kind regards,
Omar@Meaco.
I have the 20l low energy model. It is not working but has been good (6 years old)
I now need a replacement. Property is 1930s 3 bed with large downstairs extension, open plan. We used the 20l low energy to dry clothes and ran it most of the day.
Is the Arete one better to dry clothes than 20l low energy model, is it doesn’t have a Louvre.
The arete 2 is out of stock and appears to have issues with the humidity sensor.
Also would the 20l or 25l model be recommended for a larger downstairs open plan space.
Martin,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Yes the Arete models are indeed very efficient at drying clothes, with their advanced design and higher extraction capabilities. The louvre is only available on the AreteTwo so if that’s a must, you can check stock availabilities, any issues you may have seen have been addressed. Opting for the 25L would certainly be more effective, offer more extraction and cover more area.
Let me know if you need further clarification or assistance, otherwise, I hope this helps!

I’ve bought the Arete Two which comes with a HEPA 13 and have bought a charcoal filter from Meaco to accompany it. I was hoping to be able to fit both at once. Looking at the fitting area, am right in saying this is not possible??
Oliver,
Thank you for your purchase and question.
You’re correct in that it is not possible to use both the HEPA 13 filter and the charcoal filter simultaneously in the AreteTwo dehumidifier. The unit is designed to accommodate only one filter at a time, so you will need to choose between the HEPA 13 filter or the charcoal filter, depending on your needs.
The HEPA 13 filter is excellent for capturing allergens, dust,, particles in the air, air purification etc.
The charcoal filter is primarily designed to help remove odours.
Let me know if you need further clarification or assistance, otherwise, I hope this helps!

Hi, I’m confused about which of the 2 20L products versions to buy.
You say “Many customers prefer the 20L Low Energy because of its larger airflow and motorised direction louvre” but what does that actually mean compared to the Arete model? Also, how does that impact on what the dehumidifier actually does Vs the other model.
Thanks,
Dave
Is it best just
Dave,
Thank you for your enquiry. The features you mentioned, such as the louvre, are indeed available on the AreteTwo model. This enhancement allows for better airflow and more efficient moisture removal and more air flow!
The best choice between the models, depends on your specific needs and preferences. I recommend comparing both models on their product pages to see which features align best with what you’re looking for.

We’ve a large 5 bed Georgian house and bought an Arête 20L in Jan – so, our first experience with a dehumidifier.
It hasn’t stopped the condensation on the sash windows but we think there’s less (we’re still using our window vac) BUT we believe the house is generally warmer as a result of running the dehumidifier 24/7 (especially in the morning).
Is this right?
I believe lower moisture levels in the air makes the air space easier to warm (so having the heating on for an hour in the evening – as we do – has a greater or perhaps more lasting impact) and lower moisture content in the air makes the air feel warmer on the skin.
I wonder do Meaco have access any to any research or empirical data to support either of these claims (esp the first one)?
SupaSarge,
Thank you for your enquiry.
Yes you are right – Dehumidifiers reduce the level of humidity by sucking in air from the room, removing the moisture, and then blowing the warm, dry air it back out into the room again. This can help to remove the ‘damp chill’ factor in the air, so the central heating could run at a lower temperature or even be switched off.
If you needed more information, you can always give us a call. I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Omar.
I would LOVE an economy 7 option.
Ideally you would set one humidity setpoint for daytime
and another (lower humidity) for economy 7 times.
Get a timer plug? You can get ones that would cover several different time periods-they’re usually digital display around £20-25
Tee,
Thank you for your advice to Robert, however, timers are not a good idea when using our dehumidifiers, they act as constant power cuts tripping the dehumidifier on and off and voiding it of its natural power down process. Instead it is best to let the dehumidifier decide.
We do have timer options on some of our models which would suit better, or looking at our latest range of dehumidifier, the AreteTwo has all this and more, with full control from your mobile.
Kind regards,
Omar@Meaco.
Re the Meaco Dry Arête One 20 lt.
We live in a 4 bedroom/2 reception 2 story detached house.
The downstairs front bedroom with 3 windows never gets any sunlight and always feels damp and cold with lots of condensation and mould especially appearing on edge of mattress and walls around window frame.
Would this unit suit and where best to place the unit – or is there a better one. Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for your enquiry, yes 20L for 4 bedrooms is suitable, for a more details please check our blog below:

Hope this helps.

Hi, I want to make use of my economy 7 cheaper electricity times, do either of these models have a timer option or can they be used with a socket timer to turn them on?
Thank you for your enquiry,
Timer plugs are not recommended as they act as a loss of power to the machine forcing it to quit and not naturally follow the process to shut down.
We have two types of dehumidifiers which have an off timer, you choose when it should turn off, the Low Energy and the ABC hopefully these can help.
