The difference between our Arete One 20L dehumidifier and our other dehumidifiers

Since the launch of our MeacoDry Arete® One 20L in 2020, we have received many positive reviews about our product. After 5 years of design inspired by the feedback of 2,000 customers, we’re often asked why our 20L dehumidifier is any better than others (including our own. We don’t want to brag, but we believe our Arete® dehumidifier is a near-perfect domestic dehumidifier). Similarly to our MeacoDry Arete One 12L dehumidifier, a question we hear from customers regularly is: ‘What’s the difference between the MeacoDry Arete® 20L and the Meaco 20L Low Energy dehumidifiers?’

For a detailed comparison table between our MeacoDry Arete® One 20L and Meaco 20L Low Energy, please see below:

Is it an appliance or part of your home?

From our customer feedback, we understood that people were looking for a dehumidifier that blends in with the rest of the furniture. A dehumidifier that is part of the home. So when we designed our MeacoDry Arete® One, we took this into consideration and added a cable tidy, castors so it can be wheeled around easily, and a flat back so that it can fit easily against the wall. The style lines and details on Arete® make it look more like a piece of furniture, which helps it to blend in your room.

  1. Thanks very much, thats really helpful. I have been doing some research about your desiccant dehumidifiers and now considering one. Whilst more expensive, they also warm the air. So the extra costs to run would maybe lower heating costs and take the chill out of our old not very well insulated house?

In winter, i’d say our temperature can drop to 11 to 12 c in our living areas and colder in hallways. Would the dd8l be an option? Or would you still suggest arete two 25l. What is the best operating temperatures for max efficiency for both? And at what temperature cut off would you suggest one over the other? Thanks

  2. I’m looking to purchase a 20l dehumidifier for a detached 4 bed 1900s house. It gets cold and damp in the winter. I was wondering which dehumidifier you’d recommended to be most effective in low indoor temperatures e.g between 12 to 15c? I understand desiccant would work best for lowest temps but they are more expensive to run so hoping to avoid those. Thanks

    1. As,

Thank you for your enquiry. For your 4-bed home with temperatures around 12–15°C, a 20L unit will be ideal, though if you’d like more power and faster extraction you could step up to the 25L model. Both are part of the Arete Two range, which are designed to be quiet, efficient, and economical to run.

To give you an idea, the 20L and 25L share the same dimensions, but the 25L will extract more moisture per day under the same conditions. At your temperature range there’s no need for a desiccant model. You can find full details and specifications on the product page.

      I hope that helps,
      Omar@Meaco
